Mid C18th Italian olive-wood , fruit-wood and walnut commode of serpentine outline.Raised on elegant slender cabriole legs , the 2 short and 2 long drawers above a shaped frieze and below a cross-banded and serpentine outline top . The twin reserve panel top , sides and drawers all with broad cross-banding . The top with a moulded edge and shaped corners .The combination of figured olive-wood , walnut and fruitwood veneers all with a rich patina and colour. Fitted with exceptional cast-brass mermaid , shell and cherub decorated handles and escutcheons, appearing to be original but definitely of the period .All original drawer linings and fitted with original iron locks . Original back-boards , with old paper covering.
