George III Antique Silver Caddy Spoon 1792

A Superb Quality Georgian Solid Silver Shell Bowl Tea Caddy Spoon with the most beautiful bright cut engraved decoration, crafted by one of the finest Georgian silversmiths Solomon Houghham.

This lovely Tea Caddy Spoon was made in 1792 and despite being over 225 years old it is in excellent condition with no splits or repairs and the engraved decoration is as lovely now as the day it was crafted.

The bowl of the caddy spoon is a shell shape and the bright cut engraved decoration has an engraved border running around the handle forming a blank shield-shaped cartouche. The quality of the craftsmanship is as you would expect superb being crafted by Solomon Houghham.

This wonderful piece would have once belonged to a wealthy Georgian Family and used daily in a time when tea drinking was an Art and very expensive.

This will add something very special to any collection.
