A Superb Georgian Minature Bureau

Description

In Cuban mahogany, this miniature bureau is beautifully made and very well proportioned, raised on ogee feet with four drawers all with original handles and escutcheons, above which is an inlaid fall front which opens to reveal a stepped interior. In very good and original condition and of particularly good colour and patina. Often called "apprentice pieces" miniatures of this quality are more were likely to have been sales or shop window display models and a demonstration of the craftsman's skill. 350mm high, 310mm wide and 200mm deep. Circa 1800.
