A Mahogany Inlaid Arts & Crafts Period Coal Perdonium.

1900 - 1920
Description

A mahogany inlaid Arts & Crafts Period coal perdonium. The raised back with stylised art nouveau marquetry inlaid detail and castellated sides. With a sloping front also with fine quality stylised marquetry detail and a copper handle, opening to reveal the steel coal bucket and with stylised copper handles to the sides. The original shovel is located in the back. Constructed using the finest quality mahogany throughout. Very much in the style of Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple but un-marked. English circa 1900-1910

Dimensions: 20" high x 14" wide x 20" deep

Condition: This coal perdonium is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed
