Description

Starting with Ebonezer, the Handscombs were an important Family of Clockmakers in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire in the 18th and 19th Century. He moved from Whitechapel to Newport Pagnell circa 1743 which is where this clock comes from. He subsequently moved to Woburn by 1761. Other family Clockmakers include Ebenezer II, III & IV, Isaac and Edward.

The 8 Day Movement is in Good and Full Working Order. As well as Striking the number of Hours. Interestingly it also does a Single Passing Strike on the Bell on the Half Hour.

Attractive Honey Coloured Oak Case of Good Size - 199cm or 78.3in High, 41.5cm Wide and 24.7cm Deep.
