A rare inlaid jewellery box from Portuguese Madeira made by the award winning Antonio Jose D’Abreu. The box lid inlaid with many local and imported timbers and opens to an boxwood lift out tray with 9 lidded compartments. The whole in excellent condition with maker’s label for “ Antonio Jose D’abreu. Prize award for excellence in cabinet making at the Madeira Exhibitions of 1850 and at those in Porto in 1857 and 1862. Rua Do Mercado De S. Joao, Madeira. With working lock and key. Free U.K. delivery on this item. Dimensions:- Height…4.5’’/ 11cm. Width…12.5’’/ 32cm. Depth…8.5’’/ 21.5cm.
