A quite stunning and large ''Imperial Satsuma vase'' . The wonderful enamelling depicting subjects from Japanese mythology , Phoenix bird , dragon , Shi Shi dog , Minogame and floral displays representing Japanese culture .
We have had many pieces of ''Imperial Satsuma'' over the last 50 years , it has been one of our favourite areas of Japanese ceramics , but this is one of the finest pieces we have found . The size and quality are exceptional .
