An absolutely sensational example of a Victorian Scottish Mauchlineware yarn ball, often called string boxes as this is what they are often used for today.

The box is of the highly desirable two-wood variety and retains it's original cord, clearly this piece has been tucked away for the last 120 years, it's condition is extraordinary.

The picture on the front is of the "Terrace and Shrubbery - Southend". Measures 4 1/2" in diameter.
