Description

A Late 17th, Early 18th Century Carved Chestnut Figure of the Madonna and Child.

Madonna wearing a crown, a veil, long sweeping robes, and a cloak. She stands with her right hand forward, whilst in her left arm sits the child, offering benediction with his right hand, and clasping the world in his left hand. The whole in original gilt and painted decoration.

Date c 1700.
