Superb Angus of London Antique Edwardian Mahogany Roll Top Tambor Desk C1900

Description

This is a superb quality antique edwardian mahogany roll top desk and dating from aorund 1900 by the high class furniture maker angus of london who produced high quality furniture in the last quarter of the 19th century to the early part of the 20th century. Constructed from solid quality mahogany it has an 's' shaped tambor rolled top with brass key escutcheon stamped with 'angus london' and with working keyand moulded hand spaces. It opens to reveal assorted pigeon holes drawers and pen trays. It has a long drawer over the kneehole and to the left there are four graduating drawers and to the right there are two drawers above a double fronted filing drawer all of the drawers are oak lined with original solid mahogany shaped handles. To the top of each pedastal there is a sliding book rest. It stands on a plinth base and is panelled to the inside of the kneehole, to the sides and to the back.

It is in lovely condition with a good deep colour to the mahogany and with original patination. It separates for ease of transporting.

Measures: height to top 45" X desk height 30" X knee height 24" X 32" deep X 48" wide
