M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the Georgian era.

Raised on tapering square section fore-legs with H stretcher base supports , moulded seat-frames and drop-in cushion seats.
The horizontal inset lumbar-bars of triple and double groupings and the uprights all with reeded detail, with conforming reeding to the arms of the pair of carver chairs . The arms supported on finely turned uprights.

The moulded-edge shaped top-rails of ergonomically curved form with well-selected figured timber to the centres.
In good , original strong condition with only very minor historic repairs and no breaks. Good consistent colour and patina .

The drop-in seats with late C19th floral embroidered wool-work covers in serviceable condition. Could be re-upholstered in customers fabric at cost price .
