A Superb Collectors Cabinet in Mahogany and Walnut with Ceder Lined Drawers. Circa 1886.

Description

A superb and highly versatile 24 drawer collectors cabinet which had in it's time been used for the protection and display of medals. The door contains a central cartouche engraved with the name of harold summers buckley and clearly dated june 10th 1886.

The cabinet is constructed of walnut and mahogany with a decorative marquetry door. A very high quality chubb lock is fitted to the door complete with the original key. The drawers are lined with cedar and the bottom three drawers are fitted with trays and faux knobs to balance the overall appearance. Of the bottom multiple drawers, the first is double depth and the bottom two, triple depth.

Height. 26.5 inches.

Width. 14.75 inches.

Front to back. 8.75 inches.

Drawers.

Width. 11.75 inches.

Front to back. 6.75 inches.

Usable internal depth. Half an inch.

This is a beautifully constructed little masterpiece incorporating the best materials available and will lend itself to a multitude of collecting pursuits from medals, jewellery, coins, etc,etc.
