Silver Tea Strainer & Stand Birmingham 1938

A superb, solid silver Tea Strainer and Stand in the most wonderful Art Deco style. The delightful bowl has twin handles either side in the most handsome art deco design and the centre of the bowl is pierced. The strainer sits perfectly on a neat polished silver stand. Hallmarks are visible on both the underside of the Tea Strainer and the side of the Stand, for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1938, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker''s marks for A.L. Davenport. The base stands on four attractive feet.
