Fabulous Large Antique Crystal Inkwell on Brass Art Nouveau Inkstand

Description

Showy and highly decorative, this handsome English inkstand dates to about 1900 with stunning Art Nouveau detailing. There are wonderful flourishes or organic decoration, particularly the plate at the front of the inkwell and the floral and foliate border at the rear.

The inkwell is held firmly in place with no movement; it is removable revealing a pristine piece of clear crystal without damage. The domed brass lid is too decorative with the hinge in perfect working order.

Superb condition and a good size withe base measuring 10 1/2" x 6" with the crystal inkwell measuring 2 1/2" square and standing 3 1/2" tall to top of lid.
