Victorian Heart Shaped Sterling Silver and Tortoise Shell Dish

Description

An absolutely stunning piece of repousse silver has been created in this heart shaped tray, standing on the three most delicate silver ball feet.

Amongst the riot of decoration, the English silver hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1899, making this a true antique Victorian example; the makers mark R P can also be identified for Robert Pringle and Sons.

The dish has the most delightful handle ending with a silver heart to rest one's thumb.

The bottom is inset with a stunning heart shaped piece of thick Tortoise Shell with a good glossy patina.

Charming and highly collectible in excellent condition measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/2".
