Edwardian Antique Silver Card Case – Chester 1903

This stunning and unusual ANTIQUE SILVER CARD CASE was made by the well-known and sought after silversmith Colen Hewer Cheshire and assayed in Chester in 1903.

Of oblong form with indented and shaped sides, this beautiful Card Case has an all over chased and engraved floral and Acanthus Leaf decoration. The lid of the Card Case retains the original vibrant gilt coating whilst the body of the case is lined with a red material lining making this a very unusual example.

On the front of the case there is a blank shield shaped cartouche which could be used to personalise this exceptional Silver Card Case.

The Card Case lid flips open to hold your business or credit cards and the case is of a size that can still be used today with modern business / credit cards.

The lid closes tightly, the hinge is in good condition and there are very few signs of use or wear despite this being 115 years old.

A quality Antique Card Case which would make a superb gift or would enhance any Silver collection.
