Description

A really stunning Edwardian photograph frame made from English sterling silver on a solid Oak backing with integral folding easel stand.

The beautifully shaped frame is topped with a shaped cast border with pierced or reticulated detail and hand chasing. Below this the silver surrounding the oval shaped aperture is engraved with a pretty ribbon and bow motif leading to a floral and foliate garland, pretty as a picture.

The silver is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1905 together with the makers initials for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.

Exquisite and in excellent condition with an overall measurement of 8" x 4 3/4" x 3/4" thick with a glazed aperture measuring 5 1/2" x 2 7/8".
