EMIL FUCHS: a gorgeous and large Art Nouveau period BRONZE SCULPTURE of a dancer.

The happy young girl, smiling broadly, dances naked, her hair tied in a bun and her arms held aloft ~ perhaps worshipping the sun? Lovely patina and signed to the integral bronze base. 18ins high overall; 11.5ins wide; the base 10ins long. (45.5 x 29 x 25.5cms)

***Emil Fuchs, born 1866 in Austria was a noted sculptor and painter. He moved to London in 1897 where he was mentored by John Singer Sargeant. He visited New York in 1905 and moved there permanently in 1915, becoming an American citizen, until his death in 1924.
