Tall Art Nouveau Brass Lamp

1900 - 1920
Description

A fine quality, original Art Nouveau lamp with beautiful details throughout, with a square base and four 'disc' shaped feet.

Made in solid brass it measures 55cm in total to the tip of the lamp holder; 48cm to the top of the central column and it measures 17cm across the widest part between the feet. The base is 14cm square.

The lamp is heavy and well made and has a slight incline towards one side depending on how it sits on the table, but it is more noticeable in photographs than real life.

It has been rewired to UK specifications with the cable running through the column whereas the previous owner had the cable dangling down from the top. We sealed the gap where the cable used to come out with a brass button just at the side of the lamp holder, and this won't show when a shade is on the lamp. Otherwise, the whole item is in very good condition with no signs of repair or damage.
