Pair of Victorian Brass and Onyx Lamps

19th century
Description

Circa 1900 a pair of very heavy, ornate, and fine quality brass lamps with beautiful details throughout. They have a band of polished black onyx around the base, and weigh approximately 2.3kgs each.

The lamps measure 32cm in height to the top of the central column or 38cm to the tip of the lamp holders. At the widest part they are approximately 12cm and the base is about 11cm in diameter. There are no signs of damage or repair on either of them.

They were possibly candle holders converted to electricity a long time ago and they have been rewired to UK specifications using brown flex cable. They have standard bayonet lightbulb fittings, and will take any standard lampshade.
