The trunk would have originally been used during the war for transporting military chest of drawers hence the handles on either end for quick and easy movement. The original very dark army green paintwork featured on this trunk is in good condition with marks consistent to wear. The tunk has been bound with iron to help sustain constant wear and tear throughout the war. The interior of this cabinet has been cleaned but there are some stains on the interior of the chest that have accumulated throughout the years, please see photos.
