A Fine Quality Burr Walnut Victorian Period Backgammon Table

Description

A fine quality burr walnut Victorian Period backgammon/chess/sewing table. Having an oval top veneered in finely figured burr walnut with boxwood line inlaid detail, swivelling and opens to reveal an inlaid chess board and backgammon table. The top is above a rectangular frieze drawer with a boxwood fitted interior complete with a full set of draughts and a sliding silk lined sewing box. Supported on four turned fluted columns with swept supports, brass and porcelain castors and united by a turned stretcher. English circa 1870-1880
