Description

Very impressive Regency era mahogany and leather scroll end settee c.1810. Superb example of the form with a well carved mahogany frame and beautiful vintage ox blood red leather upholstery. Shaped top rail carved with an anthemion motif at the centre over a button upholstered backrest, arms and loose seat cushion. Elegantly scrolling arms with shaped and carved fronts. Moulded and carved apron below the seat and very impressive legs carved from solid mahogany blocks with oversized brass castors. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Some minor repairs to the leather at the rear of the settee.
