Unusual Brass and Painted Iron Combination Counter Bell

Description

An unusual combination has been used to create this unusual antique counter bell, with it's shiny solid brass bell and it's black painted cast iron base, the design is charming with an inverted heart design.

An unusual mechanism too, with the itself being used as a lever, pulled down and then released to hit the bell and create an elegant but authoritative ring.

Dating to around 1880, Victorian in era, it remains in excellent condition and measures 5" tall with a base diameter of 3 1/4".
