Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The handle has a charming shaped kick to the bottom and the thumb grip is a figured scroll. The top is finished with a hinged domed lid. The interior retains and light wash of gilding and there is an unusual and interesting cat armorial to the front featuring crossed swords in the background. The underside of the tankard retains the inscription of 'G. Dimmer Southsea'. A superb quality piece, in fantastic condition. Dimensions below.
