A very attractive example of an Edwardian silver plated biscuit box or barrel.
Made by the illustrious Sheffield firm of Walker & Hall in their renowned ''A1'' Plate. With the dating system available to us, we can date this item to circa 1904. It is in a simple cylindrical shape with a circular base attached, which is itself standing on three ball feet. The body and stand are decorated in a fern design.
The hinge for the lid is tight and the bone handle is secure, although cracked on either side. The biscuit box is in excellent condition.
