Gaylords Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.

The chest of drawers has Military strong locks which are all serviced and working with original key , the drawers are mahogany and walnut lined, the back of the chest has fixing holes where is was originally to fix to the side of the ships cabin .

The Chest is stamped on the inside B TAYLOR & SONS GREAT DOVER STREET LONDON , which are recorded in the dictionary as English furniture makers Benjamin Taylor and Sons who were working at 167 Great Dover Street until the year of 1873.
This chest would look fantastic in almost any room or even a large hallway for storage .
