Australian Interest. An Engraved Silver Sugar Caster

A delightful silver sugar caster of baluster form. The body is engraved extensively with leaves, flowers and swags and to the front is the coat of arms of Australia (The Commonwealth coat of arms, authorized by King Edward VI in 1908). The lid is pierced with stars and spheres and has a steeple knop. The raised pedestal foot is stepped. A fine and interesting example. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent with no dents, splits or holes. There is a tiny area of flattening to the top side of the lid, commensurate with age and use.

Date :- Birmingham 1911.
