A Pre-revolution Russian Silver Gilt Salt Tub

An interesting Russian silver salt tub from the pre-revolution era. This attractive example stands on three ball feet and has an engraved panel around the outside featuring flowers and a vacant cartouche. The interior is gilded and the rim is turned over. A good collector's item, usable today. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. There is some scratching to the interior gilding, which does not penetrate and is commensurate with age and use.

Date :- c1880.

Hallmarks :- Moscow town mark, 84 (date obscured), maker's mark and assay master's mark. (shown in photos).

Height :- 4.5 cms.

Diameter of rim :- 5.75 cms.
