Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The bronze group of a mare standing with her head turned over to her foal. Her long tail curled to her rear, and her waved mane draping over her neck. The foal, counter facing, with her tail raised. The two horses stand on grass and flower strewn ground, with a small tree stump to the rear. The oval stepped plinth following the shape of the ground.
Well detailed throughout.
Height 10 inches, width 14 inches depth 6 1/4 inches.
