The blue and gilded border enclosing a border of hand-painted floral swags and raised decoration . The central Armorial device featuring stylised lions holding a crowned shield featuring 3 rampant lions , surrounded by floral sprigs and a further band of royal blue and gilt .

The reverse with a repeated band of blue and gilded decoration and a raised foot-ring , together with a further central raised ring. . Has been fitted with a C19th hanging wire fitment, but has not received any chips , fritting or damage.

In excellent original condition with no damage, cracks or repairs.
The firm of Edme Samson et Cie of Paris, France , produced fine copies of Chinese porcelain to supply the demand of the burgeoning C19th collectors market for fine porcelain . The firm exhibited at the International Exposition 1867 and Exposition Universelle 1889.
