Good Brass-inlaid Kingwood Tea Caddy

Description

A very good quality early 19th century, Regency period, TEA CADDY in very fine original condition. Veneered overall in scarce kingwood, it is inlaid to the top and front with brass scrollwork, with twin lion's mask handles to either side.

It opens to reveal twin (removable) canisters, similarly veneered in kingwood with brass inlay, and these flank the particularly fine cut-glass sugar bowl. The quality of this bowl, in keeping with the rest of the caddy, is very fine indeed. 13ins wide. A very good and inexpensive caddy...
