Small Antique Early 18th Century Oak Coffer

Description

Nice example of a small early Oak Coffer dating from the early 18th Century. It is of traditional form made with a panelled construction standing on four feet. It has a hinged lid and a later added catch. The inside is generally clean and tidy and has been papered in newspaper, dated 1856.

It is in excellent original condition with a wonderful rich patina. It is strong and sturdy with a few old worm holes but nothing detrimental. It has avoided being heavily overcarved and is a very pretty example.
