An antique silver Waltham pocket watch.

The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Am Watch Co Waltham Mass and the serial number 5552337 which dates it back to 1892. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 52.3mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1887 with a maker’s mark for Alfred Bedford, the manager of the London branch of Waltham. The case has light surface marks from use and some mild bruising to the back but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece. The movement is a later replacement although correct for the watch.

The glass lens is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial has a faint hairline crack to the outer edge at 7 o'clock but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has gold hands and a blued steel sub second hand.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
