Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The buffet has a shelved cupboard at the bottom enclosed by 2 doors and a high top with 2 drawers beneath. It has many faces carved into it, there are 2 angelic putti faces, one on each drawer front, 2 very fierce Green Man faces one on each door front and there is a handsome caryatid on the columns on each side of the doors
There are many more superb carving, fruits of the forrest and leaves on the front
This is a handsome cupboard, the quality of the carving is absolutely superb and it is in good condition with a fantastic patina
The Buffet would work very well in a dining room as a server or as a drinks table, but it certainly has that stand alone presence and would look superb in an entrance hall.
This is a superb piece of Green Man Oak and dates from around 1870 it is in fine condition for its 150 or so years of age
The buffet stands 46” high , 39” wide and it 20” deep
