Pair of Antique French Gilt Wood Armchairs

Description

This pair of French antique gilt wood armchairs are wonderful quality & in excellent original condition. They have very generous proportions & have just been re-upholstered in a neutral fabric. The frames are beautifully carved all over & the carvings are deep & well defined. The gilding is in good original condition with some natural wear showing in places, which give the gilding plenty of character. I would date these chairs to around the 1820-50's period, but they could be older than that, judging from the quality. The frames are structurally sound & sturdy.
