Small Regency Rosewood Davenport. Circa 1815

19th century
Description

Superb quality Regency figured veneered rosewood davenport desk with swing writing surface being of unusually small size. The rising writing surface opening to reveal drawers and pigeon holes. Original brass gallery to top. Has 5 mahogany lined drawers with original knobs and locks to left side, the top one fitted with pen tray. Similar dummy drawers to other side. Front and back plain with wide cross banding and whole standing on short turned legs with brass socket casters. All in stunning un-touched original condition with no repairs or damage, except replacement leather to writing surface. Wonderful rich colour with great waxed patina. A little gem.
