The top section with 4 sliding doors each having over 100 small shaped ivory tiles and raised lacquer, gilded, carved ivory and mother of pearl Oriental characters, birds and motifs. To the right are 2 bow fronted doors having different ivory tiles and again raised carved ivory and lacquer decoration. The asymmetric shelf having wonderful carved wood and gilded figures with carved open galleries. The lower half having a pair of doors with fine plain ivory panels and intricate inlaid and on-laid decoration. The centre with 2 drawers above and below an open shelf with panelled back and to the right is another tall door with ivory tiled background and raised Oriental characters and symbols. The hardwood base of typical Oriental form with pierced and carved frets, moulded frieze, shaped legs and joining stretchers. Extremely high quality and in very good condition.
