~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
It is beautifully made in gilded bronze in the Baroque style. It is modelled as a heavily made, shield shaped wall plate with the clock hanging from a mythical creature's mouth by a ring. The ormolu pendulum swings visibly below the dial. To to the sides of the dial are mythical masks carrying the stylised ring handles in their mouths. This is a beautifully and heavily made cartel clock, impeccably prepared in our workshop.
The dial is enamel on copper with the original finely fretted, blued steel hands and covered by convex glass.
The French movement has the Japy Freres clockmaker's mark on the backplate along with the mark of the retailer Charles Hour of Rue St Anastase, Paris. It is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled and thoroughly tested by our clockmaker. Ormolu pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!
Condition of the case is excellent, beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration, just some very small cracks in the bronze here and there. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
