The box is kept closed with two solid brass catches to the front in perfect working order. Once opened a plethora of fun awaits. The inside of the lid contains two folded card games boards; the first looks to be for Ludo and the second for chess and checkers, this one also opens out further to reveal the reverse side for a horse racing game. The boards are kept in place with a clever hinged wooden device.
The interior also includes:
A complete set of 28 bone and ebony dominoes. A dual wood cribbage board with bone pins. Three score pads with pencil. A turned Fruit Wood dice shaker. A complete turned and carved wooden chess set. A complete set of 28 checkers. Two large dice and one smaller one. Two packs of playing cards. A selection of various gaming counters.
The box is in excellent condition, measuring 13" x 8" x 3" when closed.
