Description

Fine quality Georgian mahogany bureau writing desk c.1800. Open the fall to reveal a good sized writing surface and a superb fitted interior with beautiful inlaid marquetry work detail. Featuring pigeon holes, eight small drawers and a central lockable compartment plus some cleverly disguised secret compartments. Over the classic configuration of two short and three long drawers in the base. Cockbeaded drawer fronts retaining the original brass handles. Raised on shaped bracket feet. Solid mahogany top, fall, drawer fronts and cabinet sides. Oak drawer linings throughout. Excellent colour and condition, restored, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied for the fall and the small internal compartment.
