In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1870s.
This sits atop two short and two long drawers with the original turned knobs on squat turned bun feet.
It is in very good original condition. The interior is clean and tidy and the drawers run smoothly. All the knobs are original and the mahogany has a wonderful rich patination and there are no major damages to the exterior. Any glare in the pictures is from the reflection of the sunlight, not fading or discolouration. There have been some minor repairs of the veneer in places and some minor chips in the cockbeading around the drawers but nothing detrimental. In the bottom corner of one door is a very faint scratched name 'Annabel' which has been carefully removed without affecting the existing polish but is still just about visible in the right light (see photo). The hinges have been strengthened at some point and some new screws added. It comes with its original working key for the cupboard doors and also the drawers.
