Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Front and sides of the wardrobe are scumbled or painted to resemble the pale colour and decorative grain of elm or birch. Unusually the scumbling is also continued on the inside of the doors. With a large moulded cornice, arch door panels with a pronounced beaded moulding and on a simple block plinth. Excellent condition with only minor wear to the paintwork. With original lock, hinges, catches and hanging hooks. Key supplied. With the doors removed the carcass of the wardrobe splits horizontally into two pieces.
