Fine Pair of Mid-nineteenth Century Birds'-eye Maple and Parcel-gilt Side-cabinets

Description

Fine pair of mid-nineteenth century birds'-eye maple and parcel-gilt side-cabinets in the manner of Holland & Sons; the shelved interiors enclosed by a pair of panelled doors with gilt paterae inset corners, flanked by canted and panelled front-corners with carved leaf-and-scroll brackets and pendant husks; with boldly carved upper and lower mouldings and surmounted by grey marble slabs (with a further pair of white marble slabs).

John Beazor Antiques is a family firm, established in 1875 and based in Cambridge since 1940. We are a traditional antiques shop, but very much in the 21st century. We deal in 18th and early 19th century furniture, barometers and clocks. We choose our stock for its originality and for the quality of its colour, patination and design.

We are members of the BADA. We do not exhibit at fairs preferring to deal from our Cambridge shop where we hold an Open Weekend every November.

Open 9.00am – 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Saturday. A prior phone call or email before visiting is always a good idea and we are happy to be contacted outside of business hours.
