Description

A very attractive Victorian burr walnut freestanding davenport with superb boxwood inlay. The brass galleried top lifts to reveal a well fitted stationary compartment. The bow fronted and inlaid fall has a replaced green leather writing surface with gold and blind tooling. The interior beautifully veneered in maple with working brass lock and keys.To the right side are 4 mahogany lined drawers with turned pulls with opposing false drawers to the left side. The front with subtle boxwood inlay and stringing with well carved supporting brackets and decorative square inlaid columns. The shaped base raised on brass and white porcelain castors.
