Antique Silver Card Case – Frederick Marson 1859

This stunning and unusual ANTIQUE SILVER CARD CASE was made by the well-known and sought after silversmith Frederick Marson in 1859.

Of oblong form with indented and shaped sides, this beautiful Card Case has an all over chased and engraved floral and ribbon decoration on a fine engine turned background. The case retains some of the original gilt coating.

On both sides of the case there is a blank shield shaped cartouche which could be used to personalise this exceptional Silver Card Case.

The Card Case opens by pressing a catch on the side to reveal a beautiful Silky Pink lining with two pockets to hold your business or credit cards and the case is of a size that can still be used today with modern business / credit cards.

The catch closes tightly, the hinge is in good condition and there are very few signs of use or wear despite this being almost 160 years old.

A quality Antique Card Case made by a master craftsman which would make a superb gift or would enhance any Silver collection.
