Description

Late 19th century silver table box; of rectangular form and good heavy gauge of silver, the hinged lid/cover displaying a typical Dutch tavern scene in the style of the 17th century Flemish artist David Tenniers the Younger. The sides are decorated with scroll design and the hinge is very finely made. The glory of this fine box is in the silversmith's skill in the cover; it is absolutely exquisite.
