A charming Japanese Meiji period Fukagawa porcelain vase of oval form hand painted and gilded with a cartouche on either side, one depicting butterflies in flight of waterlilies, the other show geese in flight over the ocean. Finished with a peony tree flowering up either side it has a gilt rim and is signed on the underside; this fine vase is in excellent condition and stands 4 ¼ inches tall.
