Description

An English dropdial mahogany cased wall clock. Brass inlays to the case with side fan carvings. A visible brass pendulum aperture. A 12" convex painted dial signed 'Benson London'. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee movement. Circa 1825.

The Benson family of clockmakers are listed in Loomes 'Watch and Clockmakers of The World' book as working in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Width 17 " / 43 cms Depth 6 " / 15 cms Length 25" / 63 cms.
