A rare antique French silver plated bronze clock set by Samuel Marti. It is Baroque in design, boldly out swept with gadrooning and acanthus decoration. The front and sides are backed with ebonised panels mounted with baroque motifs. To the top is a large lidded urn with pineapple finial and acanthus handles. Candelabra are modelled with conforming bases and urns with boldly swept acanthus arms. Pineapple snuffers sit in the central nozzle when not in use. It is heavily modelled in bronze, crisply chased and finished with a beautiful silver plate.

The dial is also silver plated bronze mounted with 12 porcelain enamel cartouche letters. The blued steel hands are original.
The French movement is by Samuel Marti and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Email us for a video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the silver plating is beautifully clean and bright. The dial is also in excellent condition.
